Excerpt #2

11.  To avoid disappointment, form friendship without expecting anything in return. Do things for others without demands, and youll never be disappointed. Some people will return favors and affections and some wont.

12. If you care for people because you want to, and not because you expect something back, you wont feel crushed should they fail to return a thought or a favor. The universe is essentially fair and just. If you are giving out care and affection, good things will come back at you, though not necessarily when or from where you expect it.

13. We each must recognise our own value. If we depend on others to do it - and they dont - were constantly disappointed.

14. You can only complement someone else in a relationship if you're a complete person.

15. Taking ourselves too seriously can also mean desperately trying to make an impression.

16. The ones who really suffer are those who know inside the things could have been much better, closer, more exciting - but they weren't.

17. Being right becomes more important to us than being happy.

18. Unfortunately while we blame on others, the problem never gets solved, so blamers remain frustrated and miserable.

19. If you dont fix your life, who will?

20. Living on this planet is a privilege. If we want to enjoy the nice things of life, it is up to us to represent value to other people.
