Steps in Business Registration

1. Barangay Clearance/Permit
2. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - for business name registration
3. Securities and Exchange Commision (SEC) - for partnership and corporation
                                                              - needs lawyer to file this one

After DTI and SEC
1. Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) - for VAT registration number
- have your accounting books and records registered with BIR
- have your business invoice forms registered before they are printed. Some printing press ccan do these for you

2. Social Security System (SSS) - register employees who recieve more than P1000 monthly wages
- required before getting Mayors Permit

3. Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - for more than 5 employees

4. Mayor's Permit - inspects for sanitary,electrical,fire hazard,garbage disposal and sign permits, units

5. electrical installation - make sure that electric meter is registered under the business name if you rent a space

6. water installation - important for food business
                             - proper sanitation and and water disposal system

7. telephone installation

Be ready with:

1. Good business sign
2. Good business Cards
3. Good letter head
4. Invoices
5. Official Receipts
6. Delivery Receipts
7. Purchase Order forms
8. Job order forms
9. Time cards (employee)

Others:
1. DEPD - for schools
2. Camp Crame - for ammunition
3. Bureau of Food and Drugs - Pharmacy / Food manufacturing
4. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas - for bank
5. LTO and LTFRB - for taxi or rental service
